Firstly commiserations to Wojciech on his debut appearance for the team – unfortunately I saw nothing of his game, however I have confidence he will get some points on the board in future games!

My own game was relatively straight forward from an early point, with my opponents king virtually unsupported on the other side of the board. Checkmate or heavy material losses were unavoidable.

Steve was a queen up at one point, but blundered his own. A huge pawn deficit complicated matters, and continued a string of losses for Steve.

Slava appeard to have no problems in his game, and was already in a strong position by the time I got a chance to watch.

George was a pawn up, but unable to make it count in a pawn ending.

Ray was last to finish and secured the victory. After a king/rook fork Ray was in a strong position, although a passed pawn may have caused
some problems. Ultimately his material strength won the game.
With 5 wins on the book we are secure in 7th position, with a chance to overtake Cowley 5, only a single point ahead.
